Just about all of us have that packed closet of doom that we plan to someday clean out, and organise. The project has been on our to do list for way too long, and the inspiration to dive in and make it functional has not arisen, ever. But maybe all you need is one great idea to get you motivated to check this task off that never ending list.
I recently saw this home organisation tip, and within a couple of days had implemented it in my formerly ostracized, off limits closet. I purchased a metal hamper on wheels, the kind you can see through when the hamper lining is removed. I took the liner out and put all of my families footballs, yoga mats, boxing gloves, and tennis rackets in the container. Without the liner I could see what sports equipment the hamper held without having to go scavenging to learn of its contents.
I then put the hamper in the garage, thus freeing up valuable closet space. Now, if there is any dirt attached to the equipment when it is put into the container, it falls through to the floor below. I added sweeping it away to my sons list of chores.
I have also claimed the newfound closet area as my very own. It is the perfect place to put my expanding shoe collection. As a matter of fact, I am headed out to a shoe sale right now.
