What to Remember When Decorating Your Entryway

Of all the areas that you have to decorate, how to do the entryway is often the most perplexing when it comes to decision making time. Right off the bat, you receive a bit of a reprieve because this space should exude an open feeling, so less is more here. The goal is for it to appear light and airy, so lighting is key.

In order to create the right feeling for this space, place one large mirror, or several small ones, to catch the light and bring it into the hall. The size, or number of the mirrors should be based upon the dimensions of your entryway.

To carry this out properly in the evening, you can incorporate overhead lighting that helps to define this area. Be sure to hang the light six feet eight inches above the floor. This allows the fixture itself to maintain visual impact, but does not make the area feel cramped.
